What this checker looks for
Images carry hidden data beyond the visible pixels. This tool reads and displays the most important pieces:
- EXIF — camera/device, date taken, and exposure settings.
- GPS location — the exact coordinates where a photo was taken, if present. A common privacy risk.
- Software / editing history — the app that created or edited the file.
- AI content credentials (C2PA) and AI-generation tags — signals platforms use to apply "AI info" labels.
Found something you want gone?
Re-encoding the image produces a clean copy that contains only pixel data — dropping all of the above. Head to the main tool to download a metadata-free version.
Note: reading and removing metadata changes the file, not the visible content. It does not defeat pixel-based AI detection, and you should always follow each platform's disclosure rules.
